Found this restaurant by sheer luck on Zomato, given that if you search for restaurants in Gurgaon the list is just REALLY long and I generally tend to not go beyond the first few pages. Though don't want to take anything away from Zomato, eating out would be so boring without it.
I might have skipped over this restaurant considering the menu offers the usual continental/world-cuisine type stuff, though what caught my attention were 2 things -- they had a 22 page menu, ie lots of choices and more importantly they were marketing themselves as a restaurant where you can play board games during your visit. Also, they were located at Cross Point Tower, a multi storey plaza right opposite Galleria, a place we hadn't ventured to so far.

When we got there the restaurant was pretty empty apart from a couple of other people, though that could be cause it was a late weekday night. Immediately we were greeted by the 'Game Master', we asked to play scrabble (yes, from the good old Barrista days), he did pull it out but talked us into playing a very interesting variant of it and I must admit it was lots of fun (the variant was "banana-gram" for those of you wondering). Though scrabble is just one of the many games they have, they boast of over 300 games and are building their library as and when requests come in.

We ordered falafel pita pockets for starters, the falafels were fried to perfection, crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside and the pockets had ample amounts of hummus. Main course was cheese steak and chicken in Thai red curry. The waiter was extremely helpful in making the selection. While we were waiting another gentleman arrived and introduced us to "Abalone" to while away our time till the food arrives. While this was fun, we had to remind our co-player that the food had arrived and we would like to focus on that now :)

The food was actually pretty fabulous with a lot of attention given to presentation, though they did go skimpy on the cheese steak helping (or maybe we're just used to stuffing ourselves). Both the falafel pita pockets and cheese steak came with potato wedges that had been crisped to perfection and you could tell they were freshly made. I consider that a scarcity these days (with most joints serving double-fried wedges/fries). In fact all three entrees gave you that tasty fresh food feeling.
I could go on about how good the food was but that might take away the essence of what they're all about. To wrap it up, The Mind Cafe is certainly recommended, I for one am returning with a few more friends to play a round of Cranium or maybe even cluedo!
